When Scottie Dogs Attack

Cutest thing I have seen in a while. Beloved will have to watch out. Seems big, boofy ol’ airedales can handle lil dogs in a gentle(ish) manner. Bring on the daschoodle.

  • That was adorable! Airedales are great. Scotties aren’t a “little dog” in my book though. Ever look at the size of their teeth??

  • LOL, no I have never seen their teeth. Actually I am not sure I have ever seen one in real life! I would love another dog but nothing airedale size. More of a lap-dog. Do you know of anything small but robust and low allergy? :)

  • Well, not exactly a lap dog, but have you considered a Welsh Terrier? They look just like miniature Airedales. Of course, there are always poodles. ;)

I love ANY sort of terrier….well, airedale-y looking ones anyway. I love Lakeland Terriers too. Ooh, and I would LOVE a poodle. Argh – I am getting clucky for puppies now! :)

  • Very cute. I used to play a similar game as a boy when we had lots of dogs and a big yard. Our puppies were half Doberman and half St. Bernard, and more mature. I would take off running and they would come after me. I would fall to the ground and they would attack, playfully. Then I would jump up and start chasing them. Then I would stop. So would they. Then I take off again and they’d be hot on my trail. Good times. I miss being a kid and having a yard full of pups. :) Really good times.

Hey PP! Sounds like fun :) Do you have any dogs now? GYL

  • Nope. I haven’t had a dog since I was little. I do however have a snake, a turtle and a cat. :)

    A snake!? GYL

  • One of my grooming instructors had Lakeland terriers and she said that the breed in general was very dog-aggressive, so I’d be cautious of them. They are sweet with people though. I LOVE Welsh terriers and from what I know of them (I groom a couple) they are very good family dogs. A little stubborn (all terriers are) but they are generally friendlier than some of the other terriers. The ones I groom are AWESOME dogs.

I’m very partial to poodles myself and can’t find any faults with them (also, in general), personality-wise. If you are not a groomer or don’t have one, that is something to consider, but I’m sure you have to get your Airedale groomed so you are probably used to that.

I have heard that about Lakeland terriers actually. LOL. I gave Theo a brush yesterday, boy that was an event and a half. He is sooo good and patient though. He is due for a fur-cut soon, he is looking more teddy bear-ish than usual.
